What is the "Happening now" feature on Gaytherings?

"Happening now" is the live view: events already underway, or about to start, right around you.

What it shows

Each event in the list shows how far away it is, so you can see at a glance what's worth the trip. The list updates as events start and end, so what's there is what's actually open.

How to open it

Tap "Happening now" on the Gaytherings homepage. The list opens on the same location and community you already have set at the top of the page.

Filtering the list

"Happening now" has its own location and community filters, separate from the ones on the homepage. Tap the filter control, adjust either one, and the list updates. Your top-level settings stay untouched, so closing the live view puts you back exactly where you were.

When the list is empty

An empty list means nothing is running in that location and community at this moment. Widening the location or switching community to all LGBTQIA+ events usually turns something up. Quieter cities simply have quieter weeknights.
